Intro into Thrive
The Thrive approach is a specific way of working with children to help support healthy social and emotional development. The Thrive Approach teaches us how to be and what to do, in response to young people’s differing and sometimes challenging behaviour by providing targeted strategies and activities to help them re-engage with life and learning. At the heart of the Approach lies the understanding that children’s behaviour represents a form of communication of their underlying need. Here at Bettridge we embed the Thrive approach by delivering targets sessions both individually and within groups in our newly established ‘Hive’ room. We ensure that these sessions are fun, creative but most importantly fun. Jess is our Thrive practitioner here at Bettridge, however all staff members are able to embed Thrive in the classroom by following individual and group Thrive action plans
